Business leaders facing global health challenges
The Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria represents over 200 private sector companies leading the business fight for improved global health. The organization facilitates leadership and advocacy by business leaders, allowing members to reach their global health goals. GBC focuses on infectious pandemic diseases in addition to many other global health challenges.
The 2011 GBC Conference and Award Dinner will bring together more than 500 business executives, policy makers, and thought leaders to discuss the corporate response to global health challenges and identify new avenues for future business action. The conference will address and explore topics that will allow this community to think more broadly about their work in global health.
The GBC Conference unites business leaders with partners in government, multilaterals, and civil society in an effort to foster idea sharing and group innovation. It will address topics including social entrepreneurship, emerging health markets, and consumer imperative on health.
Sessions will apply lessons learned from HIV/AIDS to managing non-communicable diseases, discuss business engagement in women & girls’ health, explore health challenges in BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries, and more. The conference will take place from June 1-2 in New York City.
The 2011 Gala Awards Dinner, to be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, will honor supporters of GBC including George Soros and Ted Turner. View the full Speaker's List here.
