CHMI Philippines Partner Recognizes Top 10 Health Market Innovations in 2012

Presentations and questions at the Round Table in the Philippines.

For the second year of the Health Market Innovations Project, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) held a Roundtable Discussion on July 31, 2012 at Hotel Dusit Thani in Makati City. For this year, PIDS has identified 80 innovative health programs across the country. From this universal list, 10 programs were shortlisted by the Project Steering Committee that were evaluated and assessed by experts during the Roundtable Discussion.

Wireless Access for Health goes Regional: A Diffusion of Innovation

Wireless Access for Health (WAH) was successfully piloted in the four municipalities of Tarlac Province. The pilot project’s results have been positive at the rural health units in Gerona, Moncada, Paniqui and Victoria. For this initiative, it was awarded the Galing Likha-Kalusugan Award of Excellence by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and Center for Health Market Innovations (CHMI) in November 2011.

Four Innovative Health Programs Honored as the Top Galing Likha-Kalusugan Awardees

Celebrating Filipino ingenuity and inventiveness in the healthcare sector, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) launched the first Galing Likha-Kalusugan Awards (GLK) on November 7, 2011. The event was attended by top health experts in the country led by Hon. Enrique T. Ona, Secretary of the Department of Health. Ms. Corazon Aurora “Pinky” Aquino-Abellada also graced the event to represent the President.
