First Global Conference on Social Franchising
The First Global Conference on Social Franchising will take place on November 9-11, 2011 in Mombasa, Kenya. This conference will provide a forum for program directors, program managers, researchers, donors and others to share experience and research about the franchising of private health care providers to support the delivery of health services. Attendees will learn about the 40 programs worldwide, including innovations in management, demand creation, quality assurance, incentive structures and integration of multi-level referral systems across the four goals of social franchising: cost-effectiveness, quality, equity and access. Satellite training sessions will also be held for program managers. The Global Health Group of the University of California, San Francisco will host the conference, and major funding and other support will be provided by Marie Stopes International, Population Services International and the research arm of the World Health Organization’s Department of Reproductive Health and Research - HRP, as well as the Glaser Progress Foundation.
