IFC is the world’s largest multilateral investor in the private health and education sectors in emerging markets. We support the growth of the sectors in developing countries in a sustainable and socially responsible way that helps improve the lives of people, many of whom do not have access to health care or education. To ease the burden on public health and education systems, IFC also works closely with the World Bank and developing country governments to design and tailor strategies that fit the needs of countries that do not have the resources to provide services for their entire populations.
