Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA)
SIDA is the Swedish agency for development whose goal is to make it possible for the poor to improve their living conditions. SIDA supports civil society organisations, or CSOs, in the developing world, but funding is always channeled through one of 15 Swedish CSOs. The agency also collaborates with for-profit companies to reduce poverty and environmental impact, create more and better jobs and encourage growth. SIDA has funded a wealth of projects in health, including general health care, health education, and infectious diseases such as TB and HIV/AIDS.
