Mercy Corps exists in Indonesia to alleviate suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities. Mercy Corps started its operations in Indonesia in 1999 and since then, it has promoted sustainable economic development through integrated, entrepreneurial self-help programs and skills training, and improved the living conditions of vulnerable populations living in crisis in the areas of food security, urban development, climate change, health, water sanitation and nutrition.
