Center for Health Market Innovations (CHMI)

UCSF’s Global Health Group

The Global Health Group (GHG) at the University of California, San Francisco is an “action tank” dedicated to identifying, elaborating and translating innovative solutions to major global health challenges into large-scale action to advance health and save lives in low- and middle-income countries. The GHG works across the spectrum, from conducting research and policy analysis, to building consensus, to catalyzing the development and implementation of pioneering programs in collaborating countries. The GHG leverages a broad network of individual experts and institutional partners from across the scientific, policy, country, donor, finance and private sector communities to maximize its impact. GHG is currently working with CHMI on a thematic study of informal sector providers. GHG also convenes a CHMI affiliated Community of Practice on social franchising.
