Alzheimer's and Related Disorders Society of India is part of the umbrella organization of Alzheimer's Disease International, whose main purpose is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia and their care givers and particularly to raise awareness about the disease.

Key program components: 

The main activities undertaken by the Society are as follows:

A. Comprehensive Dementia Care Program at Cochin (Funded by Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai), which includes:

  • Day care
  • Domiciliary care
  • Memory Clinic
  • Geriatric care training
  • Awareness programs
  • Care givers’ meetings
  • Guidance and counseling
  • Research
  • Dementia Care Fund

B. Dementia Respite Care and Day Care at Kottapay (near Guruvayur). The Centre provides the following services:

  • Round the clock nursing care by geriatric nurses
  • Medical care
  • Occupational and physiotherapy
  • Group activities
  • Information and counseling
  • Day Care
