This unique public-private initiative aims to assist disadvantaged communities to respond to AIDS-related needs for care and support.

Key program components: 

Bambisanani partners work with community leaders, women's and youth groups, traditional healers, and other community structures to build a suitable environment for home-based care for children in distress through training in HIV/AIDS, TB diagnosis and treatment, income generating activities and other interventions.

Established in 2000, the Bambisanani Project is a partnership between community, private sector, government and donors who amongst others include Bristol-Myers Squibb, Gold Fields Ltd, Harmony, Secure the future, O.R. Tambo District Municipality, and the Mineworkers Development Agency.
