Summary: 

Baptist Aids Response Agency in Africa (BARAA) is a Christian development NGO working in the areas of Health and Poverty eradication in Kenya, Sudan and Central Africa Republic.

Key program components: 

BARAA's Its mission is to prevent HIV/AIDS and other common diseases that hinder development of a healthy generation and nation by providing leadership based on biblical principles and approaches that affect health and community development through the promotion of positive behaviors /choice making and the empowerment of vulnerable groups including children, youth and orphans.

BARAA is funded by the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) to mobilize millions of youths toward abstinence and life skills through a consortium of churches working together. It strives for a healthy generation and enhanced quality of life for those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and other common diseases in Kenya and beyond. BARAA also runs the Indigenous Capacity to Prevent Aids in Kenya (INCAPAK) project, whose main goal is to prevent HIV/AIDS in Kenya with the focus on Meru South, Trans -Nzoia, Malindi and Teso districts.
