Summary: 

A voluntary community health and life insurance scheme for widows living in Thmar Pouk and Svay Chek rural operational health district. The scheme has a steady membership with a low drop out rate of 13%.

Key program components: 

The scheme, which is promoted by the Village Health Volunteers Network of CAAFW, offers comprehensive inpatient coverage, two-way transport for care, US12 in the event of death for funeral expenses, and transportation of the body back to the home. While there are no exclusions, services are limited to what local health centers and hospitals can offer. The annual premium is subsidized at a rate of US$1 for every US$2 premium and paid by members in six-month installments (as of 2009).
