Summary: 

The Centre for Health Solution (CHS) provides comprehensive support to the implementation of the continuum of HIV prevention, Care and Treatment activities in 51 health facilities in nine districts in Central Kenya.

Key program components: 

Centre for Health Solutions – Kenya (CHS) is a local, indigenous Kenyan not-for-profit organization with in-depth understanding of the local context, utilization of local expertise as well as strategic partnerships to ensure the implementation of evidence informed solutions and interventions to existing and emerging public health concerns.

CHS partners with the Ministries of Health (Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and Ministry of Medical Services) to implement HIV chronic care interventions that are informed by evidence.

CHS provides comprehensive support to the implementation of the continuum of HIV prevention, Care and Treatment activities in 51 health facilities in nine districts in Central Kenya. Further, it focuses on integration of reproductive health services including family planning and STI management in the regular chronic care clinics to ensure holistic management of patients.

CHS aligns its work with national and international public health priorities to support in the achievement of set goals and objectives as defined in the health sector strategic plan and Kenya National AIDS Strategic Plan (KNASP) III locally, and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Global Health Initiative (GHI) internationally.

Program history: 

CHS was registered in July 2010 and formally began operations on October 1, 2010. CHS began activities as a local sub-partner of the International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP – Kenya) within the framework of implementing the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) under the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Track 1 Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) Cooperative Agreement for Central province in Kenya.
