CHPK has been recruited as a consultant to support health care training in neighboring Tanzania.
Summary: 

CHPK aims to improve community health through better quality health care training linked directly to service delivery. Its objective is to establish training and medical centers to support community healthcare in line with the MDGs four (Reduce Child Mortality), and five (Improve Martenal Health Care and six-Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other disease) through supporting other organizations and institutions to achieve the same. Emphasis will be put on practical training and social skills necessary to solve the unique problems of local communities in developing countries.

Key program components: 

In oder to achieve the program goal CHPK’s interventions include the following:

  • Expanding the opportunities for training mid-level healthcare workers;

  • Ensuring that trainings are attractive for potential students and potential employers;

  • Applying evidence based strategies in the training programs;

  • Collaboration with other national and international institutes of higher learning, in order to share experiences;

  • Social responsibility through integration of service delivery to the community;

  • Collaborating in public and private initiatives at various levels of operation

The program also provides curative, preventive and rehabilitative health services at a subsidized rate to cater to the poor people living in Kikambala.CHPK's health center works with out-patients as well as in-patients. The program also has full training for staff and community health workers. In addition, the program offers in house consultations for medical education in Kenya, as well as across East Africa.

Program history: 

CHPK is a limited liability company aimed at fostering public-private partnerships in community health issues in Kenya. It was started in 2009 by a group of by a group of dedicated and experienced people in medical training and health care in Kenya.

Their aim is to use the vast knowledge and experience they have gained in the course of their work as promoters of innovative learning in medical training to contribute towards the improvement of healthcare for Kenyans.

The program aims to grow into a reputable organization as well as a recognized player in the field of community health promotion in Kenya and beyond. .
