eHealth Nigeria focuses on improving healthcare in Northern Nigeria by creating effective ways to implement reliable health information management systems. Accurate health data will provide NGO’s, hospitals, and donor agencies with access to timely health system indicators needed to evaluate their health interventions and respond to critical public health needs.

Key program components: 

eHealth Nigeria has developed electronic health (eHealth) solutions that can be rapidly deployed to manage patient information, streamline clinical procedures, and provide data and analysis on health program outcomes.

This organization provides health management information system to hospitals and private health clinics in both urban and rural parts of Nigeria. They implement an electronic medical records system using the OpenMRS platform. This system provides access to the first patient-based health indicators in Nigeria (as opposed to previously error-prone aggregate data).

Compared with other health management information systems, eHealth Nigeria focuses specifically on providing solutions and services that can function in areas that have little to no power, a dusty, hot, and humid environment and can be run by health care workers with limited technical knowledge

The three-month process pilot process of eHealth Nigeria's information system resulted in electronic forms for all clinical areas, greatly reduced data duplication and a monthly reporting process that takes minutes instead of days.
