Eye Q operates hospitals in North and West India in a hub-and-spoke model of operations allows for leveraging of high-end skills and efficiency in purchase and operations while ensuring maximum market penetration.

Locations include Gurgaon, Rewari, Haldwani, New Railway Road, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Yamunanagar, Hisar, Roorkee, Fatehabad, Surat, and Lucknow.

According to a Business Standard report, the chains' prices are tiered: "A cataract surgery costs Rs 23,000 in new Gurgaon, Rs 19,000 in old Gurgaon, Rs16,000 at Rewari and other such centres. There are various other packages for cataract surgery which could vary from Rs 5,000 to Rs 23,000 in small cities."

Program history:

According to SONG, an investment and management company funded and owned by the Soros Economic Development Fund, Omidyar Network and Google, a $1B+ market exists in eye-care but is currently under-served; specifically north India remains a significantly poorly served market compared to the South India. Viable business models have developed in South India for eye-care but have not been replicated in North India.

SONG estimates that there is the potential to achieve a cumulative outreach of over 500,000 people in the income segment earning an individual income of below INR 10,000 per month by 2014-2015.
