Summary: 

The FINCA Uganda-NHHP (Nsambya Hospital Healthcare Plan) health insurance scheme is a partner-agent model covering inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic tests, and medications.

Key program components: 

The voluntary health insurance product is available to all FINCA Uganda clients. The client can add up to three other members of the household. Other family members can added for an additional cost. The policy covers inpatient up to US$44 per visit, outpatient up to US$8 per visit, diagnostic tests, and medicines (as of December 2000). Key exclusions include chronic diseases, injury from participation in riots, and dental surgery. Policyholders contribute a co-payment to obtain services, available at one Kampala hospital. The premium is US$47 per year (as of 2000).
