Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital (AMCGH), Mirpur: Dhaka Ahsania Mission has established Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital, Mirpur in 2001. It initially started as a cancer hospital a latter on facilities for general patients was incorporated. It is a 42-bed, non-profit service oriented hospital. It has provided 30% of treatment and services facilities free or at subsidiaries rate to poor needy patients. Construction of Ahsania Mission Cancer & General Hospital Project, at Uttara Dhaka, (13-storied with 2-level Basement building. 10-storied with 2-level basement, retaining wall and boundary wall is completed. 2nd phase construction work is ongoing. It is expected that the hospital will be commissioned very soon.
There are provisions for donors to sponsor different facilities of the Hospital in one’s own name or dedicating the same in the name of near and dear ones. Construction of the hospital building is in progres. Donations are received in cash or as commitment from government, individuals and corporate sectors. AMCGH appeals fervently to all corporate bodies, banks, business organizations and philanthropic people to participate in this noble venture and help complete the project.
Specific services and resources that will be incorporated for quality of services include: radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology, gynaecological oncology, failsafe pathology, molecular techniques and other general specialist services.
In order to build community capacity, some trained community health resources will be developed who can provide basic health care.
Prevention and control of various health issues like drugs addiction, HIV-AIDS, Cancer where DAM has specialization, will extend institutional and mobilization support. DAM will support to strengthen public health service system at grass root level and promotion of mental health care. Micro level and institutional experiences will be used for policy dialogue and advocacy on health issues. Other intervention will complement in building community capacity, increasing skills, awareness and empowerment to have better access to quality health services from union level health service providers through organized claim and establish right to watch on delivery system. DAM will assist community managed satellite clinic associating with local trained health practitioners.
