Summary:

After the J.W. Marriot Hotel bombings in Jakarta in 2003, PULIH foundation felt the need to open a hotline service for survivors who are unable to visit the foundation directly but are in need of mental health counseling services. This service is especially for survivors who are experiencing harsher difficulties, such as severe burn wounds, are still being treated in hospitals, or face distance constraints and other similar situations.

Key program components:

The hotline has grown into a 24 hour service after the bombing incidents in front of the Australian Embassy in the Golden Triangle Kuningan area in Jakarta. Being a 24 hour service, the hotline is intended to anticipate crisis situations that may strike at any moment. These crisis situations include one becoming disorientated, wanting to hurt themselves or others and other dangerous circumstances.

The PULIH hotline does not solely handle cases related to the impact of the second bombing; rather, it deals with a variety of issues. Several issues, however, are not covered by the hotline counselors, for example, consultation associated with learning difficulties, drug dependence, HIV/AIDS, children with special needs, schizophrenia disorder and industrial management and organization.

This service is publicly accessible at no cost to everyone at individuals of any age.

PULIH’s service hotline is not only reachable through phone calls, but also available through SMS. The latter option was provided to allow customers the choice of which service makes them feel more comfortable. Based in Jakarta, PULIH hotline service can be accessed through the phone number +62888 1816 860.
