Summary:

MMS-HIS includes non-clinical and clinical information functions and features that support clinical decision support software (CDSS) and the CDSS capacity by identifying drug interaction. The features include the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), and e-prescription.

Key program components:

The adoption of a sound clinical information system and clinical decision support software in hospitals in Indonesia is still limited, especially in public hospitals, where resources are much more scarce. Since 2009, MMS-Hospital Information System (HIS) has been gradually adopted by various hospitals in Indonesia, including the Tabanan Hospital and the Indera Hospital, both public hospitals in Bali. MMS-HIS has been made available by Mitrais to these two hospitals at an affordable price and the adoption is currently on-going.

MMS-HIS at Tabanan is used to maintain patient EMRs. However the system’s ability to provide drug interaction and allergy alerts is not yet implemented because the hospital’s pharmacy database is not yet fully developed.

Indera is only adopting the non-clinical functions of the MMS-HIS, although the hospital plans to progressively use other modules available on the clinical side, including e-prescription and referral functions.

Program history:

Mitrais is an information technology (IT) company located in Bali, Bandung and Jakarta. The company is one of leading providers of custom software development both in Indonesia and internationally. In 2006, it entered the market for medical software industry and constructed Mitrais Medical Suite (MMS), a comprehensive patient-centered system.
