In response to the sudden upsurge of Leptospirosis cases after massive flooding caused by tropical storm Ondoy and typhoon Pepeng, the Philippine Department of Health (DOH) has entered into an agreement with private hospitals to accommodate the overflow of leptospirosis patients.

Key program components: 

DOH entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the five private hospitals to treat cases that government hospitals can no longer accommodate. Under the agreement, the DOH will subsidize the financial requirements of patients that will be referred to these hospitals.
