ProFam Cameroon is a clinical franchise that aims to improve the quality and accessibility of and increase the demand for health care services in the private sector.

Key program components:

ProFam Cameroon provides health care through 24 private health care clinics, and 1 mobile clinic, in Yaounde City, for those with low income, for sex workers and clients, men, youth, women and children under 5. The objectives are to provide Family Planning (FP) and pediatric care by offering Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) according to the Health Ministry standards. Services provided include contraceptives, condoms, female condoms, injectables, Copper T, natural Family Planning (FP), lactational amenorrhea method and pediatric care. The program also has community mobilizers that are identified and are trained by the reproductive health staff.

ProFam Cameroon has been successful, in organizing health talks in collaboration with women's associations surrounding health centers, subsidizing voucher system, in its referral system for adverse events and emergencies, and now is working on expanding the use of IUDs and increasing the demand for Family Planning services among the youth. Future plans include organizing "ProFam days" in the suburbs where franchise clinics do not exist and recruiting new clinics.
