Summary: 

The project was designed to provide tertiary healthcare and referral services to poorer sections of society living away from larger cities through the use of state-of-the-art technology or telemedicine.

Key program components: 

Through this project, rural poor are provided an opportunity to connect with medical specialist based in a large city (Karachi). The program model includes a Karachi-based hub, which is connected to a number of spokes in the province's rural areas. A large number of medical specialists are available through the Karachi hub, which can be reached through the spokes free of cost by the rural poor living in scattered locations. The facility also enables the medical specialists to access x-rays, electro-cardiograms and other vital signs for real time consultation.
