Key program components:

The project is designed to meet the short fall of 15,789 nurses in Punjab through the implementation of a General Nursing Diploma Program. The primary goal of the project is to aid the provision of quality healthcare to patients across Punjab's public and private sector by creating a pool of well-trained and accredited nurses. The project employs the public private partnership model whereby the provincial government is providing resources to the Fatima Memorial Hospital (College of Nursing), a renowned private sector nursing school, in order to fill the capacity gaps within the health service delivery system in the province.

Since 2007, an equivalent of 740 million Pakistani Rupees (close to US $9 million) has been provided by provincial government for the purpose of training various categories of nurses.
