Summary: 

Radio Apac designs, develops and markets media services for sale on the basis of the messages being clearly delivered to the community of northern Uganda in the language they best understand during appropriate programs for the communities and specially targeted audience and time to meet the needs of our customers via the media platform.

Program goals/rationale: 

Radio Apac has a mission to fulfill its mandate and has strong fundamental norms such as concentration on educational programming, a concern for the social economic impact of information broadcast on radio, grass roots participation in programming and high standards of excellence and innovation.

Key program components: 

Radio Apac 92.9 FM is a community radio station broadcasting in northern Uganda that works to sensitize and educate residents of Apac about HIV/AIDS and other issues of importance to the community.To expand the use of essential reproductive and child health services of adequate quality with reduction of geographical disparities. Project strategy includes promoting partnerships with the private sector to improve delivery to urban under served areas.

Program history: 

Radio Apac is an autonomous organisation that has established its own direction with the support of Commonwealth of Learning and the community members. It was a pioneer of the FM radio service in the Lango sub region and enjoys the community's goodwill.

The programs respond to the social and cultural needs of minority groups and various specialised audiences. We recognise women program producers and other visible minorities in the overall production of programs.
