Summary: 

The policy covers direct medical costs such as consultation fees, hospitalization, laboratory tests, medications and delivery. For an additional fee, direct non-medical costs such as the cost of transportation, food in case of hospitalization and the loss of wages for both the patient and an attendant.

Key program components: 

Individuals between the ages of three months and 65 years are eligible to join. There is no exit age for the "cashless" product. However, there is an initial waiting period for pre-existing diseases. However, waivers can be obtained to waive the initial waiting period. The sum insured options range from 5,000 INR to 30,000 INR (US$111 to US$666) for individuals and 10,000 INR to 30,000 INR (US$222 to US$666) for family floater policies.
