The aim of the launched product is to help poor households have access to formal insurance that protects against health risks such as severe or chronic illness, accidents, and obstructed births. These shocks are particularly damaging for poor households who are more vulnerable and less able to absorb the financial consequences of such events. their goals are: (i) To provide financial security to the below poverty line population, especially women, from hospitalization related expenses. (ii) To improve access to quality health care. (iii) Awareness creation at a mass level for Micro Health Insurance. (iv) Set an example by building a sustainable, efficient, viable and scalable business model for Micro Health Insurance product
Key program components
Tameer Microfinance Bank's product is cashless and covers inpatient care up to US$405 (35,000 PR) per person per year. The premium (US$7.30 (650 PR)) is paid at the time of enrollment to the insurer via the microfinance bank.
This is a voluntary product which is mostly available to Tameer Bank customer through its 110+ customer touch points throughout Pakistan. This product is offered to all walk-in customers and product based (comprising loan and deposit Product) customers.
Unlike competitor products, this is a non-bundled, voluntary product offering.
