Key program components
Vijaya hospital was established in 1972 with the commitment to provide quality medical services to the community under the umbrella of Vijaya Medical & Educational Trust (VMET) at Chennai. Today the group consists of Vijaya Hospital, Vijaya Health Centre, Vijaya Institute of Trauma & Orthopedics and Vijaya Heart Foundation. Together, the facilities have 800 beds. The hospital is known for its Orthopedics and Trauma treatment. The Orthopedic services includes: joint replacement surgery, arthroscopy, spinal surgery, pediatric surgery and orthopedic oncology.
Vijaya Health Centre and Vijaya heart foundation that are part of the group are also known for high volume services. Vijaya Health Centre is a 340 bedded hospital equipped with comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient medical facilities. Vijaya Heart Foundation has performed more than 11,000 surgeries since its inception in 1996 and has grown to become one of the leading centres for heart surgeries in India. It has also performed around 30,000 coronary angiograms with 5000 of them being coronary interventions.
