Bui Thi Thanh Mai

Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP) (Viet Nam)

Dr. Bui Thi Thanh Mai obtained her Medical Doctor Degree of Hanoi Medical University in 1992 and a MSc. in Health Systems Management of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London University in 2000. She was a Packard-Gates Fellow of Population Leadership Program at the University of Washington (USA) in 2004-2005.

Dr. Mai had been working as researcher and trainer in Hanoi Medical University from 1992 to 1999. Together with other colleagues, she founded the Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP) in 1999 and the Center for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP) in 2008.

As senior researcher and principle trainer in the field of public health, she mainly participates in designing, implementing the health intervention programmes as well as conducting the monitoring and evaluation of these programmes. She also assists in developing government health policies by participating in different research and disseminating the results to policy makers. Besides, she provides consulting services to different organizations, including United Nations agencies and Non-Government Organizations. At the same time, Dr. Mai is a guest lecturer of Hanoi School of Public Health, provides training sessions on health system management for Bachelor and Master Students.
