Dr. Nadira Sultana is a medical doctor with a Masters’ in Health Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and 20 years of international experience in healthcare – implementation, health systems research, evaluation, health finance and advocacy. She started her career in the Ministry of Health of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at rural public health facilities for its public health program, and from then on has been working with various international development agencies on diverse healthcare programs, including management and implementation. She was also instrumental in planning evidence based maternal and child health programmes for Bangladesh government and private (not for profit) organizations.

Her interests are: results-based maternal and child health care programs in poor-resource settings, including gender equity and women empowerment issues.
