Senior Research Fellow, Philippine Institute for Development Studies
Rouselle F. Lavado holds the position of Senior Research Fellow at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS). Dr. Lavado has broad experience and knowledge in health policy and economics. Currently, she is the principal investigator of different health financing, health care delivery system and private health care studies of the institute funded by domestic and international agencies. Prior to this role, she worked at Asian Development Bank Institute in Japan and the Policy Center of the Asian Institute of Management. She is also a consultant for the World Bank, WHO, GTZ, USAID and government agencies of the Philippines for different major health research initiatives. She published numerous policy notes, discussion papers, research journals and co-authored books chapters. Dr. Lavado’s research interest includes health financing, efficiency and equity. Dr. Lavado holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics at Ateneo de Manila University, cum laude, and received her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Public Policy at Hitotsubashi University, Japan.
