Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP) (Viet Nam)

Dr. Tran Hung Minh gained Medical Doctor Degree of Hanoi Medical University in 1992 and MSc. in Health Systems Management of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London University in 2000. He had been working for 7 years in the Community Health Research Unit of Hanoi Medical University as a researcher and lecturer. In 1999, together with other colleagues, he founded the Consultation of Investment in Health Promotion (CIHP) and then the Center for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP) in 2008. Currently, Dr. Minh is Director of CIHP and Vice Director of CCIHP. Being a manager, he participates in a number of organizational development works, including setting up vision, mission, strategies, and long-term objectives of the organizations and also participates in daily management activities. As the Head of Research Division, beside working in the role of principal researcher in a number of studies on health system reform, reproductive health and gender, Dr. Minh also provides training on research methodology for health professionals and medical students, focusing on quantitative research methods. His research results have been published in several national and international journals. In addition, he has long experience in designing and implementing the operational research integrated with the monitoring and evaluation systems of health interventions at different levels in Viet Nam. Programme management is another strength of his expertise, he has been intensively working as senior health advisor and coordinator of various health intervention programmes supported by government and non government sectors.
