Summary
FriendlyCare Foundation Inc. is an innovative, private sector family planning organization founded, funded and run by some of the top Filipino health and business leaders. FCFI fills a much needed market niche by providing "Quality Care at an Affordable Price" to middle and lower income families.Key program components
USAID helped establish the Friendly Care Foundation (FCFI) in 1999 to provide financially sustainable, demand-driven family health and reproductive health services to lower-middle and middle-income groups-estimated to be more than two-thirds of the total population. The establishment of FCFI clinics add to the growing network of midwife clinics under the Well Family Midwife Clinic program.
To date, FCFI has opened 10 clinics and served more than 200,000 visitors. FCFI clinics are staffed with friendly, knowledgeable staff and are located in the country's main urban centers. FCFI aims to provide high quality, affordable family planning services while focusing on achieving full operational sustainability. Currently, revenues generated from fees show some clinics are 50% sustainable. JHU/PCS provides technical assistance to FCFI in business planning, strategic marketing, communication, branding as well as impact evaluation.
