Glocal is a social venture that seeks to bring State of Art Healthcare to rural population in India through an integrated model of Block Level Comprehensive Primary & Secondary Care Hospitals, Health Insurance, Skill Development and Technology.Program goals
Glocal aims to provide comprehensive primary and secondary healthcare in medically underserved areas, using a rational, technology-based standardized platform. Glocal stands for global quality, delivered at a local level.
Key program components
Glocal is currently concentrating on creating the backbone that will enable large scale intervention in health. The construction of the prototype hospitals is slated to begin by October 2010. Each hospital is a 30 bed hospital offering out-patient, in-patient, OT, emergency and obstetric services besides ancillary services like pathology, radiology,pharmacy & blood bank. Each hospital is run on an advanced ICT backbone that offers support for EHR/EMR, diagonistic tools, disease management protocols, ERP & other services. When the model is proved on the ground Glocal intends to start full scale rollout.
