Summary
HealthOne is a chain of diabetes management and primary care clinics in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. HealthOne currently has three clinics established in high density, low income areas.Program goals
HealthOne aims to provide low-cost, high-quality medical care to Pakistani diabetics and pre-diabetics. Pakistan currently has more than 15,000,000 people in the country with these conditions. HealthOne clinics aim to open branches in all major neighborhoods of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, before moving to other cities.
Key program components
HealthOne targets diabetes patients at the primary care level through general practice doctors, not specialists. By using a primary care approach HealthOne is able to lower the burden on local government hospitals and offer patients lower cost healthcare
The HealthOne Clinics chain is currently developing a patient record management system that focuses on providing medical staff with computerized guidelines in order to improve the quality of healthcare services.
Each clinic is equipped with machinery which can do basic lab testing for diabetes indicators— HbA1c, Lipid Profile, ACR, CRP - so that patients don't have to wait in line for hours to take tests and receive results.
HealthOne Clinics are advised by the Joslin Diabetes Center, an affiliate of the Harvard Medical School.
