The Integral Health Coordination Program (PROCOSI) was founded in 1988 to have a qualitative impact on child survival activities carried out by NGOs in Bolivia, implementing projects financed by the Government of the United States of America through USAID.
Over the years PROCOSI has expanded its focus to include strengthening the concept of integral health in Bolivia. The PROCOSI network is made up of nationally and internationally-based 34 member organizations and is the largest integral health network in Bolivia. PROCOSI is the largest network of NGOs working for Health and Development in Bolivia.
The PROCOSI Network works in all nine regions of Bolivia and has managed to forge important links between the national, regional and municipal levels by working effectively with the Ministries of Health and Sports, Education, and Water, the Vice ministries of Housing and Basic Services, the Prefectures, Municipal Governments, civil society organizations and communities.
PROCOSI helps to improve the health of the Bolivian people through integral health projects on maternal health, child health, infectious diseases (Malaria, Tuberculosis, Chagas, HIV/AIDS), gender, exercising rights, leadership for young people, water and sanitation, housing improvements and emergencies.
