Summary
On SUSTAIN Project CFHI was expected to increase the uptake of HIV Testing and Counselling services, provide HIV Testing and Counselling services to at least 150,000 persons in the FCT and link all HIV Positive identified clients to care and treatment in CCFN supported Healthcare Facilities.Program goals
To provide HIV Testing and Counselling services to at least 150,000 persons in the FCT and link all HIV Positive identified clients to care and treatment in CCFN supported Healthcare Facilities within the Federal Capital Territory by applying public health best practices in the project implementation.
Key program components
Because CFHI seeks to enhance family well-being by curtailing the increasing devastation of life and well-being by preventable diseases, infections and infestations including HIV/AIDS, the strategies adopted in the delivery approach of the SUSTAIN project include;
- Engaging in Community advocacy/engagement meetings before carrying out HTS in communities
- Carrying out HTS activities (this may entail a door-to-door approach, central point testing etc.)
- Referring all reactive clients to designated health centres
- Tracking and follow up of all reactive persons in the course work
- Carrying out daily, weekly, monthly M & E to ensure data quality assurance
